Frequently asked questions

Everything you want to know before switching to Surestaria.

What is container demurrage?

Demurrage is the penalty charged by shipping lines when a container exceeds the free time granted at port. Depending on shipping lines (MSC, Maersk, CMA CGM, Hapag-Lloyd) and African ports, this represents between 30 and 200 USD per day per container. Surestaria automatically detects these overruns and generates corresponding debit notes.

Is Surestaria suitable for the port of Matadi (DRC)?

Absolutely. Surestaria is used daily by freight forwarders operating in Matadi, Boma, Kinshasa and along the Congo river. The software integrates DGDA customs regimes, dual CDF/USD invoicing imposed by Banque Centrale du Congo, and DRC-specific operation workflows.

How does offline mode work?

The mobile QR scanner caches container manifests and workflows locally. Your operators can scan and check containers at the terminal without any connection. As soon as they return to a covered area, data is automatically synced to the cloud.

Can I manage multiple currencies?

Yes. Surestaria natively handles USD, EUR, CDF (Congolese Franc), AOA (Angolan Kwanza), XAF (Central African FCFA), XOF (West African FCFA) with historical exchange rates. Each invoice can be issued in the client's currency, with automatic conversion for accounting reports.

Is my data secure?

Surestaria uses a multi-tenant architecture with PostgreSQL Row-Level Security (RLS). Each organization is fully isolated — no data leaks between clients. Hosted on Supabase (TLS encryption, daily backups).

What is the price?

Surestaria is a professional paid software, with pricing depending on your activity volume, number of users, and specific integrations. Contact us to receive a quote tailored to your office — we first discuss during a personalized demo.

How does setup work?

Setup is fully managed by our team. We configure your organization, import your reference data (clients, suppliers, customs codes), configure your workflows and train your employees. You don't have to install or configure anything alone. The access URL is provided once configuration is ready.

Does Surestaria work in Angola?

Yes. Surestaria handles Kwanza (AOA), the interface is available in Português, and workflows are compatible with operations in Luanda, Lobito and Namibe. A local team can be reached at +244 924 252 612.
